Charging only seems to work with the provided USB power supply

I’ve tried using different USB-C power supplies from various manufacturers (some generic, some premium) of various maximum wattages, but the only one that works is the one which came with the RS90. That one will work with every cable I throw at it, and with either the charging base or plugging directly into the port on the base of the remote itself.

Are you having the 1GB version? because that only supports low power chargers.

It looks like mine has 8GB of storage if that’s what you’re referring to…

I received this remote as a gift for my patience as we wait for the RS90X to come out, so I don’t know the specs.

Looking at the rating on the working USB supply, the output shows 5V=3A, 9V=2.22A, 12V=1.67A (20W MAX). That seems pretty standard, and after all… The U in USB stands for Universal, which is asking to my confusion.

There is no fast charging on the 1GB version nor the dock supports fast chargers so use Usb A to C type cable. Usually those bricks are also low power chargers.

@cssfounder I bought RS90 from ebay. Do we have RS90 in 1 GB version and 3 GB version? Is there a way to version what is the RAM capacity from UI? Also, is there an firmware version upgrade to Android 12 is planned for 1 GB version?

We never sold 1Gb as a product. It was a pre-production unit. If someone sold it to you either he got it for free or he got via Kickstarter early pledges when they had a choice to wait for 3Gb and did not wait and took the 1Gb. So we do not have much of plans for 1Gb firmware but the App will be same and you will get all the App updates. Apple TV integration required a firmware change to work so it is not going to work on 1Gb. Rest all integrations will works with 1Gb. 1Gb is different ARM chip and it doesn’t support beyond Android 8. 3Gb is Android 12. 90x will be Android 15.
