Forced use of rooms

Why are we forced to put everything into rooms? I just want to use this remote in one room and I have no desire to have it be used to go room to room or control anything other than my AV equipment in my living room. Why can’t we have the option to not define rooms and simply have the home screen have the actions we directly want to access without selecting a room first?

Based on extensive user feedback, we are re-evaluating our core UI design. Initially, Rooms served as the foundational element, but this approach has introduced limitations.

We are now shifting toward an activity-based model to create a more flexible and scalable user experience. This new design will not fully abandon the concept of rooms but will reframe them as a type of activity.

The new UI will feature an optional list view for all devices, eliminating the previous limits on how many devices can be added. This change addresses the core issue of device capacity while maintaining a holistic view of the user’s home setup.

OK cool- good idea. I know this remote has had a lot of work done to it to allow for things like marketplaces and customization as an android device, but I just want a remote. I want to look at a screen that says “Kaleidescape, Netflix, YouTube, Disney +, Paramount +,” etc. with an icon for each which when clicked, changes the inputs, power, etc. so that I can just click button and what I want till load, be controllable, and allow me to use the remote as a remote… that’s it.
