I received my RS 90 today, and I’m trying to set up my Nvidia shield pro. There seems to be very little information about this.
The Haptique app correctly locates The shield, and I can add it as a device. When I add it however, the Haptique app tells me that I have to enable debugging mode and then use ADB. Use ADB where? On the shield? On the RS90? Why do I need to use ADB?
Simply adding The shield as a device does nothing… I need to get the shield to recognize the RS 90 as a legitimate remote.
I’ve scoured the websites, reddit, and this community and I can’t find any clue as to how to get this RS 90 paired with the shield.
A detailed write up would go a long way. Can anybody help?
After a few hours of playing, I have the correct and complete workflow for not only the Shield, but any Android TV variants - including Sony TVs:
ADB over Wi-Fi Setup for NVIDIA Shield (2025)
- Enable Developer Options
Navigate to Settings > Device Preferences > About.
Scroll down to Build and press it 7 times until you see “You are now a developer.”
- Enable Network Debugging (ADB over Wi-Fi)
Return to Settings > Device Preferences > Developer Options.
Toggle Network debugging to ON.
Note: In the latest Shield OS, enabling Network Debugging also activates ADB debugging automatically.
- Disable ADB Authorization Timeout
Within Developer Options, locate and toggle Disable ADB authorization timeout to ON.
This prevents the default 7-day expiration of ADB authorizations, ensuring continuous connectivity with devices like the Haptique RS90.
- Retrieve Shield’s IP Address
Go to Settings > Device Preferences > Network.
Note the IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.42) for ADB connection.
- Start the Haptique discovery for Android TV variants, select it and look for the UI Dialog Box on the Shield or other Android TV variant that asks if it’s ok for this new device (the Haptique remote) to connect
Done.
By following these steps, your Haptique RS90 should maintain a stable and persistent connection with your NVIDIA Shield over Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for weekly reauthorizations.

Nice work @uberrob
We have a new integration to control Android TV coming next month. Also Fire TV will be supported with its native integration. Roku integration should come this month on Play store.
