I need your help with the installation and setup of my Haptique RX90. I am using it to control both my Ziggo Next Set Top Box and my Medion television.
The issue is that for both devices the power commands are reversed:
• Pressing On turns the device off.
• Pressing Off turns the device on.
This causes problems in daily use:
• In my macros, when I set everything to power on, all devices respond correctly except the Ziggo Next and Medion TV, which receive the opposite command.
• The same applies to shortcuts: if I create an “Off” shortcut, I have to use it to turn the device on, and vice versa.
When I initially tested different remote codes during setup, the On/Off commands worked correctly in the first test phase. Based on that, I selected these codes:
• For the Ziggo Next Set Top Box: Cisco #ID178
• For the Medion TV: #ID8834 (only option available)
However, after assigning these codes, the reversed On/Off behavior started to occur.
Normally this could be solved by using a Power Toggle command instead of separate On/Off commands. Unfortunately, in the RX90 settings for both devices there is no Power Toggle option available.
Since the device codes were pre-installed by Haptique, I cannot swap or correct them myself. It looks like the IR codes for On and Off may be inverted in the database.
Could you please advise if it is possible to:
1. Provide updated device codes, or enable Power Toggle for these devices.
2. Allow manual IR learning of the correct power commands, so I can reprogram the buttons myself if needed.
This is weird, as I use the exact same Cisco #ID178 on my Ziggo Next box and for me power on and power off does work completely as expected.
So please Haptique, do not just without investigating reverse these commands (unless if it is making it power toggle instead of seperate power off and on).
@Stef, did you check button assignments in the macro? There you can choose commands for the on and off sequence per device, so that is also where you could potentially reverse them by accident.
It works fine when controlling the individual devices. But when the devices are operated via the macro, the ON and OFF buttons seem to send reversed signals.
In response to xahmol’s comment: no, the button commands were not accidentally swapped in the macro key assignments.
Now I am getting crazy here. It worked yesterday and now have the same behaviour as described before: the Ziggo box goes off with the on command in the macro and on with the off command.
How!?
Or was the database altered as reaction on the first post?
We did not altered anything. This might be the case of you using the previously downloaded IR file (before we changed the IR database). Now it is giving issue because the database has changes(possibilities).
Let us check the issue.
We found out that the current On/Off are nothing but same power toggle so in your case your are sending same command in both sequences. To address the issue created by this we are now replacing it with new API so it will show as power toggle only.
Your solution is to maintain the power state of the device and only operate via sequence so it will follow the Macros.
