LG WebOS discussion

I am considering that device but I’m in the United States and fear the amount of the tariff that won’t be known until the device is delivered.

If I knew what the trump tax was, I could decide if it’s worth it.

I might just have to leave it on the charger until a future update improves its usability.

Shipment is DDP so you don’t have to pay the tariff or any duty.

Great. I ordered it.

Thank you for clarifying.

Hello,

We tested Wake on Lan on Tv OS and it turns the TV on. We are implementing it in the upcoming update so LG TV will turn On. It will depend how we allow this, could be a dedicated integration of Wake On Lan.

That’s great news. One of the issues (for me at least) when using the IR for LG TV is that the volume up and volume down buttons don’t work properly. They skip up two point of volume or down two points of volume when you just tap the volume up or down button once (example, if I had the volume set to 5 on the TV, when I press volume up it would go to 7, same for volume down). With the IP connection, when I could get it working, the volume up and down both worked as expected and only move one point for each button press. If you can get the IP connection working with this wake on lan fix, it will be terrific. Thanks!

How is this supposed to work? I have an LG G5. I added it as a Smart TV - WebOS. I added the device to a room. When I go to the room on the controller and select the device and i get a weird display with a touch display mouse cursor. The mouse cursor does not work at all and I am unable to exit from the screen nor turn the television off and have to reboot the control to get out of it.

Hold back to exit detail view. Did the LG got auto discovered on the config app? Reach out to us on whatsapp support for a quick chat.

Will there be a way to update the firmware without a Windows PC? I only have a Mac and no access to a PC. I understand it will still work, and it does, although the same issues are still present. It was recommended by cssfounder to buy this device and it should just work.

While using this device in it’s current state, for my LG OLED TV with the IR version, when trying to increase or decrease the volume, it skips up two or down two, not one at a time like it does when the IP, LG TV version. The IP version of the LG TV is not reliable and needs to be set up with a PIN each time you turn it on (I’ve been told there is a fix for this in the works and can’t wait for it to be released) - but you must turn on the TV with the LG TV remote first. Then you can try to get the PIN, most times you will just get an error, but if you keep trying, it will (sometimes) eventually display a PIN.

It was recommended to use the IR based version until the fix was released, but that version has the volume up and down issue. Ugh, it would be so nice if it would just work without compromises. When you can connect the LG IP instance, it works well, it just takes so long to get it working and sometimes it just won’t. I understand it’s new and updates are coming, but instead of adding new features, I wish they would just stabilize the current features and then start adding new features?

Also, not sure why this happened but now when I turn on the TV and Apple TV the screen is for the LG TV not Apple TV, so I have to swipe up on the bottom of the screen and select Apple TV. I can’t find a way to change this behavior so that when I use the Haptique remote to turn the devices on, it will default to the Apple TV, not the LG TV. I may have done something to cause this, but I don’t know what. I would appreciate any assistance with this.

I reached out to whatsapp and got no response

When using LG WebOS integration in a sequence how do I set input to HDMI 2?

I have really tried to work with the LG webos functionality, but it is just sooo broken and support are, as usual, u s e l e s s (apparently you are not allowed to use that word on these forums - LOL).

I have added my LG G5 as an LG WebOS TV.
I have put it in a room.
I go to the room and select the TV.
I get the strange, non-funtional mouse display with some icons underneath it - TV does not turn on. I click the power button, TV turns on.
I cannot select HDMI inputs and almost none of the remote control buttons work - no settings, no menus, no way to select input.
Why is it like this???

You were blocked on WhatsApp this is why your messages did not reach us. But now we have seen you are unhappy with LG not working as usual. You need to wait for the fixes.

With new update Wake On LAN integration will be available. You will be able to use it to turn on WebOS TVs now. Expect an update of Haptique config app to be available on App Store and play store by tomorrow.
