Sequence with custom url

I have a custom URL device set up, when using in a sequence, I can choose which command to use for power on, but that entire device (custom url) is unavailable for the power off portion of the sequence.

So, I can power on all of the devices in the sequence, but not power off the custom url one. Any idea why?

That doesn’t make any sense to me either — I’ve already provided this feedback to the manufacturer.

The On/Off sequence function is still very new, only available since version 2.2 of the Haptique Remote, so the manufacturer probably still needs to make improvements — it’s not fully thought through yet. As it currently stands, you simply can’t use On/Off sequences with Custom URL devices. The only workaround for now is to create two separate sequences: one for turning on and one for turning off.

If you name the command as “OFF” it will be available instantly under Off sequence.

The process is actually quite well thought-out. We’ve intentionally kept things streamlined because many non-technical users prefer simplicity over having too many options. We’ve taken care to balance functionality with ease of use, so it works well for both beginners and advanced users.

This is just my personal opinion and feedback, but the balance between making it usable for very simple tasks and offering a setup that also works for advanced users with more complex AV setups hasn’t been achieved here.

While the current approach may be simple and sufficient for a basic user, it’s not fully usable or practical for an advanced user in its current form.

Even if you rename the Custom Command to “Off,” it still doesn’t allow an advanced user to send multiple commands in sequence to a single device.

However, that’s exactly what’s required for AV receivers with multiple zones — for example, if you want to turn off specific zones using the Off sequence. With the current setup of sequences and Custom Commands, that simply isn’t possible.

Hello, renaming the command to ‘OFF’ worked! The UI is different though for ON sequence vs OFF sequence. For the ‘ON’ sequence, I was able to choose which command/button, but for the ‘OFF’ sequence, it did not have that option and appears that it only looks for ‘OFF’ labeled commands.

Anyway, thank you for the tip!
