SONOS S1 Support

Thanks for the latest updates and Opus1 it’s great to see that you are listening and acting on people’s feedback. For the first time, I’m actually getting to the point where I can actually use my Haptique by using a combination of the much improved Opus1 combined with dipping into Home Assistant and MQ for the things it still can’t do natively.
One of the last things to crack is integrating with my SONOS S1 system, although you have SONOS support I assume this is the current SONOS (effectively S2 although they don’t call it that) not the earlier S1 .
LIke many others I suspect I have significant investment in SONOS S1 Hardware, 12 zones in all, the audio quality is still top class, and I have no motivation to spend a further £10,000 to get no real improvement, so any chance of integrating SONOS S1 as well as the current SONOS please?
While I’m asking for stuff how about native PS5 Power on/off support now you have ip connectivity. I have no requirement to control my PS5 but I do want to be able to launch it, ie bring it out of standby. I do that now by calling a Home Assistant routine with MQ, surely you could do that natively fairly easily too?

Hi,

Glad you found the OPUS 1 improved. For the Sonos S1 system as I just realised, we can certainly integrated it. Let us see what are the differences and what to modify in the current code.

For the PS5 if HA can do it we can too. I was checking the PS4 communication but could only find it is controllable via classic bluetooth. What if you can use PS App(Android) by keeping it in Rest mode? But still we will see how can we do this.

If you don’t need the keys, the easiest way for you would be to install the Sonos S1 App at the RS90 device, then you can use the display to control your Sonos S1 devices.

Yes, good call. I’ve done that anyway, but it would still be nice to be able to stay within the base app to do this.
