I don't have a windows PC

Hi,

My IR+RF extender will arrive this week.
I received an email today happy to tell me that the manual now was available.
I eagerly go to review the manual, and what is the first thing is see: I need a Windows Laptop…


What You’ll Need
USB cable, Windows laptop, web browser (Chrome/Edge/Firefox), Haptique Config app, your existing remote controls, and an active internet connection.

I don’t have a windows computer - let alone a windows laptop - what am I supposed to do?

To be clear there is no mention of a windows requirement anywhere for this product, except for in the manual, which has only just been released and is not part of the commercial advertising

Simply send it back to the manufacturer and demand a fully functional product without having to go through the hassle of installing new firmware yourself using a Windows PC. The manufacturer is apparently planning to ship the product fully functional soon, eliminating the need for manual updates via a Windows PC, as discussed in the thread User Manual for Haptique IR+RF Hub.

We confirm that the unit which you will receive has a firmware version 1.1.2 which also works with Haptique. You dont need to flash it to make it work or pair with Haptique. But there is no OTA provision in that version so in future if we add more feature to the hub, you will not get them unless you flash it with latest one.
